REPLACE

Margie Learn LPN & Cheryl Buscemi RN

A fond farewell to a long time employee, Margie Learn LPN, as she retires at the end of May. Margie’s career at Community Nursing started in 1994, when she made home health visits. While Margie enjoyed making home visits, she soon started spending time in the office assisting with insurance authorization. Those responsibilities expanded as managed care for health insurance grew. As home health care became more competitive, regulations increased and soon Margie was in the office on a full time basis. Margie became the voice on the phone when hospitals and physicians called with referrals. Many a North East resident has stopped in to have their blood pressure checked or discuss their home care needs with Margie. Margie’s job description continued to expand over the past sixteen years to include diagnosis coding, which is essential to reimbursement and quality / performance improvement. A very special good bye to a very special employee.
Cheryl Buscemi has been appointed to the position of Quality / Intake Coordinator. A lifelong resident of North East, Cheryl obtained her nursing degree from Villa Maria College. Cheryl brings tremendous experience to this position, including Admission’s Director at Twinbrook, Case Manager at HealthSouth and home care nursing at Community Nursing. Welcome, Cheryl.

We look forward to working with Cheryl and Marti in their new positions.

Corinne McCraken HHA

Sometimes the act of stepping into the shower is a safety concern or getting dressed is a more difficult task during an episode of illness. Home health aides must have completed special training and passed a competency skills check prior to providing care in the home. Community Nursing has been fortunate to recently hire two aides that bring not only the required skills, but the compassion and sensitivity that are essential to becoming a member of the home care team. Vicki Ayers, from Clymer and Corinne Coletta McCracken of North East can be seen making their rounds in our community. Please welcome Vicki and Corinne as the newest employees of CNSNE.
