CELEBRATE NATIONAL VISITING NURSE
ASSOCIATIONS WEEK, MAY 10-16, 2010

The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) joins hundreds of organizations across the country in celebrating National Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Week, May 10-16, 2010, by recognizing the importance of visiting nurse agencies and home healthcare providers who deliver high-quality, affordable care to elderly and disabled patients in the home and community setting. Community Nursing Services of North East, a traditional VNA, embraces the single most important principle promoted during national VNA Week: compassionate, patient-centered care for all patients.

The second week of May has been set aside as a special time for expressing appreciation to thousands of home healthcare clinicians and homecare providers who tirelessly care for millions of patients across the country. Join VNAA and Visiting Nurse Agencies across the country in saying thank you to the visiting nurses and home health providers in your life for the compassionate care they provided.

“VNA Week offers an opportunity to honor and celebrate the leading role that VNAs, such as Community Nursing Services of North East, have played in establishing home health’s role in the first place and helping to keep it viable during recent years of reimbursement changes and rapidly shifting expectations for all of healthcare,” said Andy Carter, VNAA President and CEO.

Community Nursing Services of North East, organized in 1920, is one of Erie County’s oldest certified home health organization. Community Nursing Services of North East is a community-based nonprofit home health and hospice provider, that provides comprehensive services for Medicare, Medicaid, uninsured, and privately insured patients.
